I´m trying to figure a decent way to find out about the range of an object.
Means, will the item (book) best fit into packaging one, two or three?
Now here is the approach: Item is placed on a black background with a three
colors ruler left to it. Since the focus is fixed, the size of the ruler
will not change. Not all books will look overall sharp, depending on their
thickness and hereby distance to the lense, but it will do for most of them.
Recognition is more important than art.
Now, if one could use something like html maps, but instead of linking to
some page, we would need a value to be written in a simple text file.
Does anybody have an idea how to achieve this?
